Book Indexes

From an email received October 10.

I've noticed ... that students don't know how to use an index in the back of a book. For instance if they want information on the Battle of Bull Run and we don't have a book on it, then they don't ever think to look in the index of a book on the Civil War.

Wikia Search

Wikia Search does not seem to be ready to compete with Google or Yahoo. Response time was a lot slower, and a search for Indiana Wesleyan University on October 8, 2008, did not display the university home page in the first ten results.

Visually, the Wikia text box for entering a search seemed skewed extremely far to the right, to the point of hiding the "Search" button in common resolutions -- see following image -- David Dial
