Book Digitization

Search Engine Watch today posted an article on six different book digitization projects. The comment by the editors was that each of these projects must be searched independently - there is no common interface.

I suspect that these book digitization projects may eliminate some of the need for inter-library loan of older titles. It would be nice if many backups are made in archival formats, so that in the event that civilization is disrupted the information in libraries will not be lost.
