Kid Friendly Search Tools

Danny Sullivan, editor of Search Engine Watch wrote "Kids Search Engines". This article lists search engines and directories developed just for kids, general purpose search engines with porn filters, and filtering tools.

In Ohio, OH!Kids and OH!Teens are two directories that contain age-appropriate material selected by professional librarians. RefLinks is another project by Ohio librarians, but it appears to be very limited in scope.
