Coping With Google Instant Search

I find that the new Google Instant Search speeds up simple queries and provides an idea of the most popular searches starting with a particular letter combination. However, instant search eliminates my phrase searches by eliminating the quotes if I try to edit my search, so I have turned-off instant search.
