Free-Range Child Rearing
David Pimentel discusses government concerns about parents exposing children to potential harm . This has resulted in some jurisdictions requiring that parents closely supervise their children. In response, Utah legislation has clarified that parents with children of sufficient age and maturity are not neglectful when they allow their children to walk or bike to school, engage in outdoor play, stay home unattended, or engage in similar independent activity.
