Medici Effect
For a faculty retreat we read the book The Medici Effect by Frans Johansson. A tip for brainstorming came out of this reading:
The thrust of the book is on individual growth. But it did provide a springboard for discussion on organizational improvement.

Make brainstorming more effective by having individuals respond to the questions on the table by preparing their contributions in advance, and then share their ideas with other individuals in the group, seeking to garner improvements on the concepts.
