Lightning Strikes and High-Energy Electrons

Kate Graham-Shaw reports that high-energy electrons from earth's lightning strikes poses a hazard to spacecraft (and their occupants) near the earth.

Tim Wogan notes that some lightning is energetic enough for a nuclear reaction which transforms nitrogen 14 to nitrogen 13 and create antimatter.
