The Successful Job Seeker

Russ Finkelstein posits that four types of job seekers exist :

1. You want a job, any job;
2. You want a job in a specific role or field;
3. You want this job, but lack requisite experience; and,
4. You want this job, and evidence shows you can do the job.

Finkelstein hires from the last category. He encourages employers to clearly state what the job entails in any posted job advertisements, and he encourages job seekers to only apply to jobs where they will be the fourth type.
