Maximizing Personal Privacy When Using Windows

Ms. Smith suggests Windows users should create a local user account on Windows PC to minimize the amount of information the device forwards to Microsoft.

In my experience, establishing and using a "standard user" account results in a malware resistent system. When Windows is installed, an "administrator" account is created with the power to modify all of the computer's settings and to install any program. If an account with lesser privileges is created for everyday use, then a malware attack has a hard time installing programs unless the user can be tricked into providing the administrative password.
